How to prepare for MDCAT?

A medical and dental college admission
test is very important for a pre-medical student to get admission to his dream
medical college. It is a very important time in the life of a medical student as
his whole future, dreams, and passions rely on this single test. This test due
to its importance as it makes 50% of the total percentile, is very stressful
and creates pressure on students. I as a medical student has gone through
all these things back in 2019. Let me tell you what I experienced, I joined an entry test coaching academy which most students do but I think students
who are the aspirants of MDCAT should not join coaching centers. There is only
one advantage of joining a coaching center as they daily take entry test based
pattern mock tests and you get familiar with the type of questions and get efficient
in filling the response forms. But I think one can do all this on his own by
buying the past papers and prints of response forms and practice that. After
all, you have to prepare yourself it doesn’t matter which academy you go to, you
have to learn and understand things on your own. Let me tell you that it is
a simple test which is from your course books of F.Sc. If you have cleared your
concepts well and have revised well the syllabus and have a good practice of solving and time management, you can easily secure
good marks. You get ample time for preparation before MDCAT so you should utilize
it properly by making a timetable. You
should know that MDCAT multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of all difficulty
levels and make the proportion of paper. Hard MCQs which
make part of the MDCAT test is where smart work comes into play but as the great
proverb says “Practice makes a man
perfect” practice is everything. Also Time management, stress management are two things which you have to do because despite
having good preparation you can’t perform well. For time management and stress
management practice is also the key to success as it develops faith in you that
you can do it. By doing practice you got to know about your weak points and you
get an opportunity to strengthen your weak points. Also, make a strategy according
to things you learned during your practice that how you will solve the test like
how much time you will spend on specific subjects. Do your part work hard, stay
determined and focused, and leave rest to Allah.
