How to spend Quarantine and time of social distancing during COVID-19 Pandemic?

 

         Due to
Corona Virus most of the countries of the world have locked down their cities. All
the public places which include shopping malls, restaurants, parks, etc. are
closed and people are stuck in their homes. Even those people who are not ill
are at home due to this global pandemic. Health specialists all around the
world have advised to do self-quarantine and practice social distancing.
According to merriam-webster.com quarantine meaning is “isolation of people,
animals, or things (as plants) out of a certain area to prevent the spread of
disease or pests”. It is very difficult to pass the time of the whole day at home
when you are accustomed to the daily work schedule and activities outside the home. But
it is important for you to do self-quarantine when you come to know that you
were in contact who was tested positive for Corona Virus or feeling any
illness.  Also if you are not having an illness you should stay at home to protect yourself, your family and play a
part in preventing the spread of this global pandemic by practicing coronavirus
preventive measures.


      If you are
following the preventive measures and instructions of your government and want
to know how to spend this time productively you are in the right place!

      First of all
you should make a proper timetable for the things you will be doing during this
time. There is plenty of things to do. You can now spend more time with your
family members as offices and schools are closed. Put your cellphones aside and
have quality time with your children. Read good history books and tell
stories to your children or other family members. This will increase your
knowledge about the past and your children. Aside from family, you can also spend
time with your friends and colleagues by using social media apps like WhatsApp,
Facebook, Skype, etc. by making video calls to them.

          Practice your hobbies and if you
don’t have any make your hobby by learning something like drawing, painting,
and writing. You can learn all these from the videos on YouTube or blogs on the internet. Allocate your time for all the activities so that you can enjoy and
pass the time effectively. Keep yourself healthy by doing exercise and this
will keep your mind sound and healthy. Do exercise and look for home workout
methods on YouTube. You can learn cooking and can try a lot of recipes present on
BBC good food. And if you already know how to cook? You can enhance your
cooking skills and can know more recipes. Use this time to polish your skills by
doing online certifications. Do something you always wanted to do and could not
do because you were not having enough time.

          Have a look at the life you have
spent. Identify the things you have done wrong, consider your mistakes, and be
honest yourself in doing that. Think of how you can improve the rest of your life
and create new goals. People who are doing jobs now by working from home or
were previously doing should be prepared that what they will do if their
current job is lost due to the current world economic crisis. They should look for
other good companies or have plans in mind to prepare for their requirements in
advance. You can also play indoor games like table tennis, badminton, etc. Card
games can also be played. If you have any space in your homes like a backyard,
roof, or basement you can also play cricket and football. Read good books and
increase your knowledge. Keep yourself entertained too by watching movies or
seasons. Apart from all these things take good care of your health and practice
hygienic measures at your home to prevent yourself from COVID-19.

     When this
lockdown will be over you will have a very good feeling of not wasting precious
